Great Boots. Fit well and have held up. Very comfortable. Felt sole worked very well. First day caught a limit of eight rainbows. Doubt it had anything to do with the shoes tho’, Lil’ Cleo spoon, enough said.
Decided to replace my worn out felt sole boots with a new set of rubber sole boots in case WV bans felt like other states have. After some research and price shopping I decided on these since I have several other Frogg Toggs products. The boot quality overall is wonderful. They are well built and very light weight. Having only one day trip in them so far I can’t say for sure they’re better than felt soles since the trout stream I fished had a very slippery bottom. I guess I’m still getting use to them, hence the reason for 4 stars and not 5. I would also note that Amazon totally beat the price Cabelas was asking.
Today’s the first day of trout in New York and the first day that I used these boots. AWESOME! They fit perfectly over my wader’s neoprene booties and really kept a great grip on wet rocks, etc. I didn’t haven any slipping problems at all in the creek where I was fishing.
Great product Frodd Toggs! Thank you!
These boots kept my feet DRY! These boots were great boots, I have fly fished in New Mexico and Colorado and I have waded through muddy waters, rocky bottoms, and slippery streams and they were great.
Great boots. Very comfortable, dry out in a respectable amount of time. Feel very confident wading the north rivers of Idaho.
These boots are so light and I had NO trouble with slipping on rocks while trout fishing. They were comfortable and true to size. I wear an 8 and I bought an 8. I wore both wool socks and stocking foot waders and there was plenty of room, they seem to be a little wider than normal which is good because I have a wide foot to begin with. I will be buying another pair to have on hand so when the first pair wears out I will have a back up.
This are great boots! Have worn Simms all my life, but thought I would try these when looking for a new pair. These are slightly wider than Simms. I also bought a bigger size so I would have room for extra socks for winter fishing. I have worn these several times fly fishing already and they do not slip on the rocks. Very comfortable boot and great value for the money! If you don’t want to invest the world in a new pair of wading boots, I would highly recommend these as an alternative to the high dollar boots.
I would rate these higher had they been delivered without a hitch, but Amazon did straighten that out.
These seem to be very well made and in the short time I have them I’ve worn them for close to 20 miles and they offer solid support. They are pretty damn light as well, and seem to dry incredibly fast. They have open eyelets on the top 3 laces which makes tying them and removing them effortless.
The only item I’d add to these are a set of carbide studs to be more sure footed on slippery rocks and such. I have a set of 10 studs in each shoe and I feel more stable than I ever have with felt sole boots, so I’m sold on the rubber. The rubber sole combined with the additional studs assures me that I will be sure-footed in mud, on slippery moss covered rocks and on every other conceivable surface one may encounter while wading.
Besides my heart, these wading shoes are the second most used items on my body when I go fishing. I’d like to add that my heart is not on but in body. But I do wear my heart on my sleeve so I suppose it is on my body. These boots can step into lava and not melt. I’ve felt less secure in a pediatrics office compared to when I wear these.
